My research explains about the World War II. Specifically, the chapter " Asia between the War" shows us the tension of Asia in WWII.
  1. General Encyclopedia:
  • Name of Enc. : History of World War II
  • Year of Publication: 2004
  • Volume : 1
  • Summarize:

WWII was the largest direful destruction and the lasted war which used atomic bomb in the human history. WWII, which was begun from 1939 and ended in 1945, killed over 56 million people (60% were civilians) with main reasons are famine, pretermission, sickness and noncombatants. Its affection wasn’t like WWI, WWII not only affected on Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, but also in East Asia and Pacific Ocean region.

In it, Germany and Japanese, which were two strongest forces, were known as well as two colonies has the largest genocide between times. There were lots of victims who suffered in Nazi death camps of Germany including Russia, China, Poland, 6 million people of Europe’s Jew were died in Holocaust, Europe’s gypsies and homosexual.

WWII was been to burst out when Germany attacked Poland on Sept 1st, 1939 and ended at Sept 2nd 1945 with a compact was signed by Japanese foreign minister with America.

Also, the expansiveness of America’s economy, technology…. was larger than before. Because of the trial and the use atomic bomb of America in WWII, that gave lots of advantages for America’s development after the war.

2. Subject Encyclopedia:
  • Name of Encyclopedia: Asia between the War
  • Year of Publication: 2004
  • Pages: 98-115
  • Summarize:

Introduction:

When WWI was ended, most of European authority was bended to Asian arena. America controlled over Philippines. However, the apogee of Western in Asia was passed. 1900-1901, the Boxers Rebellion was the largest revolution against Western. Moreover, no new Asia rebel released from European’s hand.

At 1918, two kinds of region: the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) and British Raj (India) were two greatest victicms.

Japanese won Russia in 1904-1905 is the 1st victory in the modern history of Asia and European’s power.

The British Raj from 18th century:

Before 1914, Indian saw the world through British eyes. At that time, there were 2 greatest powers: British and Russia. Besides that, the world was divided 2 kinds: the 1st thing was “The Civilization” involved Europe, West and India. The 2nd thing was “The Primitiveness” of the rest of the world. In addition, the czars of Russia were collapsed and a new world power was appeared: the United States with its president: Woodrow Wilson.

1918, British coped with Indian self- government. After WWI, 2 great events were created: “Legislation by British Imperial Government” and “Amritsar Massacre”. By that time, a new character appeared: Mohandas Gandhi organized “March to the Sea” from Ahmedabad to Dandi in 1930.

Indonesia and the Life of Philippine:

Indonesia, which is the largest country in South Asia, is an archipelago involved other 3000 islands in Pacific with total area are 3,200m2 miles. The main revenue of Indo was cultivation and export. Indo was affected by the Dutch (region). The Dutch's support gave Indonesian some good improvements, and encouraged for the People’s Council.

Sarekat Islam, which called Muslem Society, was an origination that was made in Java in 1912 and had about 1 million members of WWI in 1918. The Sarekat Islam was the 1st political organization of Indonesian.

Philippine, which located in the north of Indonesia, was the colony of the U.S from the war with Spain 1898 like Cuba. Cultivating sugar plantation and rice were the heart of Philippine’s economy. However, their produces were come to U.S market easily without their acceptation and fair society. At 1916, U.S promised they would improve Filipino’s life, but nothing's happened.

3. Comparison:

In my opinion, I love to discover about rebellions and destruction of the Imperialisms. However, the combatants and life of Asia is interesting, too. That makes me know more than information about Asia power. Through Asia, we can see the carnage of European and Western arena. Comparing general viewpoints of the countries in continents and auricular viewpoints of Asia showed us lots of differences: Because of the noncombatant and weakness of the feudal governments in Asia, that created the perfect chances for the capitalisms and fascisms invaded.

..::='.'=::..."Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets"...::='.'=::...

Summary:
On the chapter 1, it talks about the imprisonable life of Harry during the summer break of Hogwarts and his worst 12th birthday. He couldn't let his owl fly. He had to keep silent during the dinner between Uncle Vernon and his cooperators ( Mr and Mrs Mason) like Harry not there. And then, on chapter 2, Harry was warned that he would be dangerous if he came back to Hogwarts by Dobby, who is a house-elf of the Malfoys. However, Harry didn't agree with Dobby's advice. At the chapter 3 &4, Ron and his twins brother George and Fred drove their father's flying car to escape Harry from the Dursleys. They came back to Ron's house and enjoyed breakfast with Mr and Mrs Weasley. They went to Diagon Alley to buy new books for their studing at Hogwarts. Harry & Ron met Hermione there. Also they had an unexpected meeting with Draco and Lucius Malfoy.

My opinion:
I really love to reading Harry Potter.....It makes me feel excited to discover about a wizard's world.....In addition, reading Harry Potter is very helpful......Through this story, I can learn lots of things about our real life, friendship. Also we can improve our personality through characters of this book. For example, Hermione, who is very smart, was been hate by every students at Hogwarts. Because she tried to show she was the best. However, she changed a lot at "Harry Potter ( Year 2 )"......I strongly recommend for everyone to read "Harry Potter" because of benefits that I mentioned.

Article 1 :" Microsoft Introduces New Business Services"

"Microsoft Online"
Company articulates broad strategy for "software plus services"
http://archives.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis.cgi/web/vortex/display?slug=btoffice01&date=20071001&query
=Microsoft+introduces+new+business+services

Summary:
This article talked about the new services of the Microsoft, which named " Microsoft Online". This services will use the same things, such as Xbox Live, Windows Live and Office Live to manage on the focus of the consumers and they can provide for Microsoft a more stable source of revenue. For example, Office Live Workspace let the workers share and access documents like Word, Excel or other powerhouse applications. " The fast-follower strategy" is the name which David Smith, who is an analyst, called for the new services. Comparing with Google Apps, both of them ( Google Apps and Office Live Workspace ) are free and supported by advertising.
Microsoft's going to begin aggressively marketing some of server-software products like Exchange, an online service. Microsoft Online will also compass other offerings for businesses of changing sizes. They're responding to the consumers' desire and demand. Unlike IBM, which is a huge business but not on-demand, Microsoft depends on consumers' demand as a service, paid on a subscription basis.
Finally, the actual demand from businesses for the new services is being determined.

My opinion:
This article said Microsoft was searching about new services. I think although any competitions between the companies usually makes the outlet is unbalanced, the last results is that companies just want their consumers profitable, and them too. I'm waiting for the new services of Microsoft because I'm also a inveterate guest.

The Introduction about Myself

Hi! This is the 1st time I create a blog for studying. Actually, I don't think I like writing a English blog. It's so boring. However, that's good for my English improvement. OK. My 1st post is my introduction of myself. Firstly, let's talk about my personality(Note:I hate this part). "She's quite, boring"...I think they talked about someone, but not me. "Out-going, funny, talkative" are the adjectives what my friends comment about myself. In addition, I love watching cartoons and eating ice-cream when it's raining. Studying abroad is my parent's idea. They want me to have a bright future. They tried their best for me. Therefore, I'm not gonna make them disappointed. When I came here, I felt a little happy and homesick. I was happy because I made my parents be proud of me, yet i missed my family and my friends so much. On the other hand, I was so lucky because my roommates are kind, funny people. Thanks to them, my homesick was decreased. They took care of me like a little sister. Although living far away my family is very hard with me, that makes me more confident, grown-up, independent.
That's a little about myself. Thanks for enjoying my blog.
