Summary:
This article talked about the new services of the Microsoft, which named " Microsoft Online". This services will use the same things, such as Xbox Live, Windows Live and Office Live to manage on the focus of the consumers and they can provide for Microsoft a more stable source of revenue. For example, Office Live Workspace let the workers share and access documents like Word, Excel or other powerhouse applications. " The fast-follower strategy" is the name which David Smith, who is an analyst, called for the new services. Comparing with Google Apps, both of them ( Google Apps and Office Live Workspace ) are free and supported by advertising.
Microsoft's going to begin aggressively marketing some of server-software products like Exchange, an online service. Microsoft Online will also compass other offerings for businesses of changing sizes. They're responding to the consumers' desire and demand. Unlike IBM, which is a huge business but not on-demand, Microsoft depends on consumers' demand as a service, paid on a subscription basis.
Finally, the actual demand from businesses for the new services is being determined.
My opinion:
This article said Microsoft was searching about new services. I think although any competitions between the companies usually makes the outlet is unbalanced, the last results is that companies just want their consumers profitable, and them too. I'm waiting for the new services of Microsoft because I'm also a inveterate guest.
